Biographical dossier
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ stands at the centre of salvation history and Christian chronology. The canonical Gospels narrate his incarnation, public ministry, Passion, death, Resurrection and commissioning of the apostles; the apostolic writings interpret these events as the fulfilment of Israel’s promises and the foundation of the Church.
Chronology and historical sequence
The inherited dataset provides a broad biographical range, but Christian chronology must be read through the Gospel sequence and the historical notices surrounding Herod the Great, Pontius Pilate and the reign of Tiberius. Exact modern calendar conversion remains a separate chronological question.
Primary witnesses
- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the principal narrative witnesses.
- Acts presents the apostolic proclamation of the Resurrection and Ascension.
- Paul’s letters, especially 1 Corinthians 15, preserve an early summary of death, burial, Resurrection appearances and apostolic transmission.
Office, vocation and historical agency
The page is not merely a profile of an influential religious figure. It identifies the subject according to the Catholic confession as the incarnate Son of God, true God and true man, whose life, teaching, sacrifice and Resurrection order the whole ecclesiastical history represented by Catholon.
Geographic itinerary
Bethlehem, Nazareth, Galilee, Jerusalem and the roads between them belong to the Gospel geography. Map points support reading of the texts but do not turn uncertain local traditions into exact coordinates.
